How you can help
VerifySocial is an independent civic initiative, started by a European citizen. For this proposal to reach Brussels, we need real people from across Europe.
We are currently in Phase 0 — and the most valuable thing you can do right now is to get directly involved.
1. Join the citizens’ committee — top priority
To officially register the initiative with the European Commission, we need a committee composed of at least 7 EU citizens from 7 different member states. This is the first formal step and the most urgent one.
Being a committee member means:
- being a citizen of an EU member state
- publicly assuming the role of organizer of the initiative in your country
- being available for formal communication with the European Commission
You do not need to be an expert in European law or public policy. You need to believe in the idea and be willing to put your name behind it.
Member states where we are looking for committee members: Germany, France, Italy, Spain, Poland, Netherlands, Sweden, Belgium, Portugal, Czechia, Austria, Hungary, Bulgaria, Greece, Denmark, Finland, Slovakia, Ireland, Croatia, Lithuania, Slovenia, Latvia, Estonia, Cyprus, Luxembourg and Malta.

2. Offer volunteer expertise
We urgently need people with experience in:
- European law and digital legislation — to refine the legislative proposal
- IT and digital security — for the technical documentation of the system architecture
- Translations — the website content needs to be translated into at least 6 European languages
- Communication and PR — for presence in European media and signature campaigns

3. Spread the idea
If you cannot contribute directly right now, the simplest thing you can do is talk about VerifySocial:
- Share the website on social media
- Send the link to people in your network from other EU member states
- Discuss the topic in your community — online or offline
- Mention the initiative in relevant contexts: civic groups, universities, NGOs
4. Support the project financially
At present, the project is funded exclusively by its initiator. To grow and reach a European level, we need resources for:
- translating content into EU languages
- promotion in European media
- technical infrastructure for collecting signatures
- participation in relevant European events and meetings
